I have gained a tremendous amount of experience coaching amateur teams and high performance youth teams. The many coaching education programs that I have completed (the UEFA 'A', USSF A and CSA "A", English FA Developing Strikers and English FA Developing Midfielders) coupled with the day in and day out experience of having been a professional and international player gives me a unique background to impact my knowledge and skill to teams.
Coaching Philosophy: "The whole is greater than the sum of its parts"
I believe the whole as a unit is better than the individual parts. A good football team will likely beat 11 good individual players who don't work together.
Playing style: Possession, quick transitional football with high emphasis on counter attacking as well as an in-depth understanding of defensive roles and responsibilities.
- Create well developed and practiced alternatives to Plan A attacking situations
- Develop, practise and perfect dependable attacking alternatives (Plan B & C)
- Play "The Barcelona Way" with good possession based and quick transitional football with high emphasis on counter attacking (usually 4-3-3 system or variations such as 4-2-3-1, 4-1-4-1, etc.)
- Making sure the entire team understands both attacking and defensive roles and responsibilities to ensure the number of goals conceded in a season is limited to single digits
